What is herbal medicine?
Herbal Medicine is the use of plant remedies in the treatment of disease. It is the oldest form of medicine known and is still relied on by over 80% of the world’s population.
Medical Herbalists are trained in the same diagnostic skills as orthodox doctors but they aim to treat the ‘whole’ person and the underlying cause rather than just the symptoms alone (which will not rid the body of the disease itself), by assisting the body’s own healing powers and by restoring balance.
|
What can Herbal Medicine treat?
Herbal Medicine can treat almost any condition that patients might take to their doctor. Common complaints seen by herbalists include acne, eczema, psoriasis, colitis, IBS, indigestion, peptic ulcers, high blood pressure, angina, varicose veins, gynaecological disorders e.g. PMS, menopausal problems, arthritis, insomnia, stress, flu, migraine, tonsillitis, allergic responses e.g. hay fever & asthma.
The Benefits:
- Treatment of all ages and alongside orthodox medicines
- Tailor-made prescriptions to suit your individual needs
- Expert, safe, personal, confidential practice – time to listen to you
- Using the natural plant avoids unpleasant side effects
- More effective and more economical than buying Over-the-Counter products

Weybridge Surrey Craniosacral Therapy

What is Craniosacral?
Craniosacral therapy is a natural, safe and effective therapy which uses a very light touch to encourage the body to heal itself. It is based around the gentle and natural motions of fluids which surround the brain (inside the cranium) and spine (which ends at the sacrum), but which influence the whole body. |
It is a non-invasive therapy: during a typical session there is no manipulation only a gentle pressure applied to the body.
What can it treat?
It is used to treat many commonly occurring health complaints and conditions. It is particularly well known for helping people with back pain, stress or emotional problems, headaches and migraines, and birth trauma. But it is also highly effective as a general therapy to help people feel well and get back in “balance”. Because it is gentle and non-invasive, it is particularly well suited to people at both ends of the age spectrum - infants and young children and the elderly.
Elderly clients find that the therapy relieves many of the symptoms of getting old: aches and pains, back problems, headaches, sleep problems and digestion.
Many people use craniosacral therapy as a preventative therapy keeping them in a good state of health. With babies and children it is well known for resolving problems like colic, birth trauma, sleep problems, learning difficulties, behaviour problems and hyperactivity.
What does it involve?
Most people who experience craniosacral therapy will tell you that it is extremely pleasant. Many would describe it as blissful. Sessions last from 45 to 60 minutes long in which you remain fully clothed lying on a comfortable couch. Sessions are different for everyone. You may feel sensations of heat, tingling sensations, gentle pulsing, a feeling of increased gravity or a sense of profound meditation and relaxation.
But the best way to find out is to try it out for yourself!

What do David Beckham, Yehudi Menuhi, the Queen, Paul McCartney and many others have in common?
The answer? They are all users of homeopathy…
What is homeopathy?
Homeopathy is an effective and scientific approach to healing which enables the body to re-balance itself and maintain health and vitality. |
Through this holistic system of medicine, (‘holistic’ means we treat the whole person including mental and emotional factors as well as any physical ailments) homeopathy works by recognising that all symptoms of ill health are expressions of disharmony from within. The fundamental principle of ‘like cures like’ is based on the theory that if a substance can trigger similar symptoms to those suffered by the patient, then a minute dose of the same substance will encourage the body to overcome the illness. The remedy stimulates the body’s natural ability to cure itself.
It is safe, non-addictive, and suitable for all ages from newborn babies to the elderly.
What can it treat?
Homeopathy is suited for people suffering from both acute illnesses such as:
- Flu
- Colds
- Coughs
- Cystitis
- Ear problems
- Injuries
as well as more chronic conditions such as:
- Stress
- Depression
- Anxiety
- ADD/ADHD
- Fears
- Allergies
- Asthma
- Eczema
- Hay Fever
- Sleep Problems
- Hormonal problems and period pains
- IBS
It is particularly effective in dealing with life changes such as:
- Childhood
- Adolescence
- Adulthood
- Pregnancy
- Birth & Post-Natal
- Menopause
The consultation
Homeopathy recognises that everybody is individual and will therefore need an individual remedy. In order to treat your individual needs, I will need to gain an understanding of who you are, any stresses and strains you have or are under, as well as any complaints or symptoms you may have, along with details of when and how you experience them.
The more information you are able to give to provide a picture of who you are will help me to assess your case more accurately and decide upon what remedy you may need. Exploring your energy levels, your lifestyle and your medical history, as well as that of your family is also important. Everything you say will be treated in the strictest confidence.
The initial consultation for an adult will take approximately 1.5 hours. Follow-ups take about 50 minutes, and will take place approximately 4 weeks after the previous appointment. These are to ensure that you are progressing as desired and provide an opportunity to monitor any changes or adjust treatment as required.
The remedy that I will prescribe works on an energy level. It will stimulate your body’s own healing power and will allow your system to clear itself of any imbalance. The aim is that you reach a level of health that you are happy with so that you only need infrequent treatment.

Yoga has been around for thousands of years. The main intention of yoga is to create a balance of mind, body and spirit - 'mens sana in corpore sano'. Practicing some of the several hundred yoga 'postures'in a yoga session, combined with focusing techniques and effective breathing, enable a student of yoga to achieve tremendous ability to overcome some of the many physical, emotional and mental limitations they may have. |
Immediate relief is often experienced in the initial sessions, leading one to be enthusiastic to experience more. People often find that if they practice yoga regularly, they become more energised, enthusiastic and motivated in all the areas of their lives. The benefits are very positive; physical health can improve to such a degree that some debilitating conditions disappear altogether. The calming, energising and inspiring effects of yoga can be very rewarding . Perhaps one of the greatest things about yoga is that anybody can do it at any stage of their lives and in any state of health.
Meditation
Meditation takes place many times a day only we are not often aware of it. Any moment when we find we have become absorbed in something like reading, cooking, playing tennis, watching a film, is like meditation.... We know the satisfaction we get when we are in this focused state. To increase the time of absorption can bring much more satisfaction, and to experience a very deep focus is even more beneficial for people. The possibility is there to achieve a deep level of calm and refreshment. One of the reasons there is so much restlessness in the world today is that extreme multi- tasking is taking place all around us, requiring faster and faster results. Our lives can be lived with great effectiveness and without the detrimental effects of hectic and stressful living. We can bring more dynamism into our life through more self awareness and maximising our mental and physical energies.
The deep inner awareness people experience in meditation brings about opportunities for new understanding of the 'inner person'. We spend an enormous amount of time dealing with the outside world in our lives, meditation teaches us about matters of the mind , heart and spirit as well as the physical body. This can be a transforming re - connection to our authentic self and produce a refreshing new awareness that permeates all the aspects of our lives.
