Wanda Hiller Acupuncture & Massage Therapy Islington, London
About Wanda I have completed a BSc (hons) Acupuncture degree and hold further qualifications in massage therapy.
I use a customised approach that focuses on getting the best possible results for the individual client. During your first appointment, I will conduct a thorough consultation, where information about your health is gathered including diet, work pressures, family as well as specific details about the principal condition or conditions to be treated.
I will then propose the best course of treatment that suits your needs, which may incorporate massage, lifestyle advice, acupuncture, acupressure or moxibustion.
About Acupuncture Acupuncture is based upon a concept of circulating body energy, which is pragmatic, practical and functional. In the past twenty years, extensive scientific evaluation of acupuncture has consistently demonstrated significant effects upon a variety of physiological parameters.
This ancient therapeutic art is widely used worldwide to treat a number of health conditions. Research has shown that acupuncture can be effective in the treatment of back pain, period pain and nausea.
Modern acupuncturists use other modalities such as moxibustion, cupping, guasha, corrective exercises, as well as lifestyle advice.
Holistic Massage Holistic massage relaxes and soothes with a combination of massage strokes and gentle body stretches to promote mental and physical wellbeing. A range of massage techniques are used including joint mobilisation and deep tissue release methods. This is the perfect treatment to help ease muscular pain, reduce tension and stress.
Deep Tissue for neck, shoulders and back A massage devoted to targeting tension where it is needed most. This is ideal for those who want to manage physical and psychological stresses of everyday life by managing pain and improving circulation.
Cupping Therapy Cupping is an ancient Chinese practice in which glass cup is applied to the skin by way of either heat or suction. The cups may be moved around the muscle while the suction is kept on the skin releasing any stagnation in the area being treated.
This is an excellent treatment to target pain and muscular tension that do not respond well to conventional massage therapy. The suction being created by the glass cups draw blood to stagnant areas of the body bringing in nutrients and eliminating the build up of toxins in the muscles.
I am always happy to discuss any queries that you may have about acupuncture or to give a free 20 minutes consultation over the phone.
