About Therapy
Deciding to book up for counselling or psychotherapy is often a daunting decision. Hopefully it will not be a daunting experience. Almost always it is a relief to describe the difficulties and problems hindering your life. These problems are symbols or signposts which, once deciphered, will show the possibility of a different perspective and eventual mastery over all that you meet in life. Together we work as detectives to understand what is holding you up in the present, the story of your past and we look towards a better future.
About me
Following a degree in languages in 1969, I studied martial arts, oriental healing therapies and counselling whilst bringing up a family. In 1987 I opened a healing and counselling clinic in Oxford and in 1993 completed my training in Transpersonal Psychology. I followed this with MA studies in Transpersonal Child, Adolescent and Family Therapy at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE). Following this, I completed trainings in EFT and EMDR. These are modern approaches which I often use together with traditional therapy. I also use cognitive approaches where appropriate.
