Physiotherapy Physiotherapy is a physical treatment using manipulation of joints and soft tissue to facilitate fast recovery from injuries, operations, aches and pains. Electrical equipment such as interferential or ultrasound, may be used to stimulate healing and relieve pain. Appropriate exercises and postural advice are given as well as analysis of the causing factors of the problem. A detailed medical history is taken followed by an investigation into the present complaint including a thorough physical
examination. We diagnose, treat, reassure, re educate rehabiltate and advise.
As physiotherapists we believe that listening to our patients along with a thorough physical examination is the key to good diagnosis and we believe that the most effective healing occurs when are able to engage a person to participate fully in their treatment. This is what makes us different from other clinics. We know and acknowledge that it is not us who heals, but the body itself which heals, we are but the facilitators in that process.
We have holistic hands on approach and pride ourselves on the quality of our manipulative skills. Therapeutic touch enables us to pick up valuable information from the body, which a person may be unconscious of; this additional knowledge assists us in diagnosis and choice of treatment.
As far as possible we try to establish any causative factors that preceded the accident or injury and prevent reoccurrence by educating all our patients with postural, exercise or relaxation advice.
Conditions treated: Neck and back pain, sports injuries, strokes, respiratory problems, frozen shoulder, post-operative orthopaedic procedures
Vega Testing Vega testing is a bio energetic technique developed forty years ago in Germany. It was discovered as a result of examining the
biophysical properties of acupuncture meridians or energy lines.
It is a non-invasive, painless, diagnostic tool for determining some of the causes of ill health, be it persistent viral, fungal or bacterial overload, vitamin or mineral deficiency, food intolerance or emotional blocks. The Vega machine was the first in its genre of bio-energetic machines using physics rather than biochemistry to investigate the causes of ill health.
Conditions treated: Digestive problems, Candida, fatigue, headaches, arthritis, respiratory problems, allergies, emotional upsets, hormone imbalance and skin conditions.
Mind Body Healing Somatised Emotional Trauma Therapy SETT is a treatment we have developed based on a combination of craniosacral therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and intuitive guidance. People ask for this when they realise that there is an emotional block in the body upsetting their feeling of well being and interfering with their cognitive and creative functioning. We
sometimes use this technique in our physiotherapy sessions where appropriate to illuminate the mind body connection.
We know that the body has the power to react to emotional stress and store the experience as a physical feeling. We call this Somatised emotional trauma and it may be stored over years leading to chronic physical problems. We use techniques of visualisation, body dialogue and self mentoring to facilitate release of unprocessed and unresolved issues
We use this technique when it is clear that our patient wants to follow this path or has booked in specifically for it. This therapy can have a profound effect of liberating negative energy and belief systems and re-awakening and stimulating the body’s natural healing power.
Conditions treated: Panic attacks, emotional trauma, stress induced pain, dizziness and unexplained physical symptoms.
Journey Process The journey process was designed by Brandon Bays. Brandon had been interested in the connection between the mind body and spirit for years and believed that she led a healthy and wholesome life. When she was diagnosed with a large uterine
 | tumour she realised that her body was telling her of an emotional trauma that was unresolved. Over some weeks of agonising and anxiety she bravely addressed the issue that her body was trying to reveal to her and the journey process was born.
For those who want to resolve an emotional or physical disorder or distress, all that is needed is the willingness to be guided into the experience and memory of your body, the courage to face what you find there, the compassion to forgive wrongs that were done to you and the wisdom to understand our human imperfections and the confidence that you can reprogram core beliefs that you have held for decades.
All processes are guided in a safe and comfortable surroundings, and may take up to three or four hours for the first process. A journey process normally results in a huge sense of liberation, an ‘out of the box feeling’. Old hurts and resentments are healed and a strong sense of connection to others and the world is often experienced. Physical healing can occur and former unhealthy patterns of behaviour discarded.
The journey process is a profound and transformational experience.
Conditions treated: Persistent physical and emotional disorders
