I am a qualified BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and my practice is based in Knaresborough, convenient for the Harrogate, Ripon, Wetherby and York areas.

My approach is based on the Person Centred Theory that believes that the building of a safe therapeutic relationship is the place to explore a greater understanding of feelings and actions.

My aim for my clients is to provide an opportunity for them to work towards living in a more satisfying and resourceful way.

During my years of experience I have worked within community addiction, bereavement and hospice services.

What to expect from your Counsellor/Psychotherapist
As I have already mentioned, the therapeutic relationship is the all important tool for a successful outcome, so our initial session is an opportunity for me to understand what your aims are from therapy and for you to get to know me and feel safe to continue the work.

At this first session, if you wish to continue, we will agree on a mutually agreed number of 1 hour sessions, usually weekly, the number of sessions varies according to your needs and will be reviewed as we work together.

About Me
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and work to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I have a BSc in Therapeutic Counselling and an Advanced Diploma in Counselling. I am a qualified Supervisor of Counsellors and a qualified Trainer in Counselling Skills and related subjects.
