A solution-focused approach concentrates on what you want to change in your life right now and helps to map out with you a way that suits you to get there, aiming to cultivate what has become known as good emotional intelligence. Based in Bristol I see my clients from Leigh Woods, Redland and Kingswood. I use and teach techniques which have been shown to be very effective in getting results – things like relaxation techniques and adapting thinking styles, using cognitive behavioural techniques - perhaps also helping you to look at things in a different way. Learning the right techniques is almost like putting together your own toolbox to help you to manage things in the way you want for the future. I can offer evening and weekend appointments as well as advice by email or telephone.

Anxiety and Stress

Everyone needs a certain amount of stress in their life not least because it motivates us to get up and get going.

If there are too many stressors in our life, then this can derail us from being at our best and deny us full access to our problem-solving rational self.

Managing stress levels is a skill. This is a skill which can be learned. We can then take a cold hard objective look at whether and how we can change the stressors or, if we can't change them, what steps we need to take to change our approach to them.

Having a toolbox of strategies in place can give you back control of your life.

These strategies have proved very effective for many people suffering from too much anxiety or stress including lack of confidence or self-esteem, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic attacks, agoraphobia, anxiety about public speaking/performance, job interviews, exams, driving tests, IBS and sleeping problems.
