I am located in my own clinic in Charlton Kings, Cheltenham which has free parking & bus stops close by. I am sometimes able to offer home visits. I typically draw my patients from all areas of Cheltenham, Andoversford & the Cotwolds, Bishops’s Cleeve & Woodmancote, Winchcombe, Chuchdown, Gloucester, Tewkesbury & Evesham. The style of treatments I offer are gentle ones, giving the added bonus that they are relaxing as well as effective. WANT TO ENJOY EVERYDAY MORE? I offer a choice of 3 complementary therapies which, individually or in combination, can help you towards this goal.
1) REFLEXOLOGY
An Holistic Treatment which is very relaxing and which will help to unblock & rebalance energy flow. It’s aim is to help the mind, body & spirit to work in harmony, allowing you to reach optimum health.
A course of treatments when you are unwell or stressed can help you towards improved health and/or wellbeing. An improvement in wellbeing can lead to more quality in each day.
Regular less frequent treatments can help to maintain good health and wellbeing.
I practice Clinical Reflexology – an advanced form of Reflexology which means each treatment is tailored to your needs, so no two treatments are the same.
In continual practice since July 2000.
2) INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE (no oils)
Indian Head Massage is a deeply relaxing treatment which is very good at reducing stress and tension.
The aim of Indian Head Massage is to balance your mind, body & spirit by connecting with your body’s internal energies.
The Indian Head Massage that I practise is a gentle, relaxing and very enjoyable treatment which takes place while you lie on your back.
It is often used by people looking to reduce symptoms such as tension headaches and anxiety caused by stressful situations.
It is also a great way of pampering yourself.
In continual practice since July 2000.
3) THOUGHT FIELD THERAPY (TFT)
TFT is a relatively new, but very effective, technique for the rapid relief of all kinds of emotional distress.
It works by stimulating the body’s energy meridians (as used in acupuncture but without needles) to resolve problems with the emotional control system. The stimulation is done by tapping yourself with your fingers.
Used to help a large range of fears, phobias, traumas, addictions & much more.
No need to relive traumas to treat them.
Practising at diagnostic level since July 2009
MORE DETAIL ABOUT EACH THERAPY

can help improve circulation, eg. for diabetics, sufferers of Raynaud’s disease can help reduce lymph odema, eg. following lymph node removal
conditions which have not improved with other treatments, or for which a diagnosis cannot be made
stresses, tensions caused by both physical & emotional problems

WHAT HAPPENS AT A TREATMENT? First appointment
consultation (up to 30 minutes)
I gather information about your life and health issues you ask any questions about the treatment.
followed by a full treatment (as in all appointments)
All appointments
short chat as to current health & wellbeing
full treatment (up to 60 minutes)
times can vary with certain conditions such as pregnancy.
You will remove your shoes and socks and lie on your back on a couch (can be propped up if required) with your feet and legs slightly raised. There will be music or quiet, as you prefer.
The treatment then involves gentle (but not ticklish) touch to your feet & ankles, whilst you close your eyes & relax.
It is not unusual to fall asleep.
This touch to the feet is related to stimulating reflex points which represent different parts of the body, both internal & external, and bringing the associated energy flow towards balance.
Each treatment may be different as they are tailored to your current needs
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
A general rule is that we would begin with a few weekly treatments to enable us to
both, assess your reaction to the treatments, and to enable your system to get used to the changes that we are making.
We would then expect to gradually increase the time between treatments until we consider no more are necessary, or that a maintenance program is required of regular but infrequent “top up” treatments.
After each treatment we will have a brief chat and decide how to proceed from there
(ie more treatments needed? If so at what frequency etc).
However, we are continually reviewing your personal experience and so there are no set rules.
If it is just relaxation you are wanting you would just have a treatment when you wished, either regularly or ad hoc.

All appointments
Short chat as to current health & wellbeing
Full treatment (up to 30 minutes)
As it is a 30 minute treatment it is ideal for those with busy lives
There is no need to remove clothing
The normal pattern is that you lie on a couch on your back. The treatment involves direct, gentle touch to head, neck, face & shoulders.
For a small part of the treatment you will have your head turned to the side, but mostly it will be straight with your body and you will have your eyes closed to enable you to relax more easily. There will be music or quiet, whichever suits you at the time.
If you cannot lie flat an alternative position can usually be found.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
There is no set pattern for this and it varies with the individual.
It often begins with a few weekly treatments and for those with busy and stressful lives then becomes regular but less frequent treatments, working out which spacing is best for you.
If it is just relaxation and pampering that you are after, you would just have a treatment when you wished, either regularly or ad hoc.

WHAT HAPPENS AT A TREATMENT?
All appointments
Short chat as to current health & wellbeing
A treatment usually takes up to 60 minutes during which time we will assess what issues you have that you would like to work on
Muscle testing is used to diagnose the sequence of tapping that is required for your condition and you are shown exactly how & where to tap
Usually issues are resolved very quickly, but sometimes the treatment is inhibited by energy disruption. We identify what is causing this, again using muscle testing, correct it for the treatment and then you may have to avoid those substances. Full advice is given for this.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
If the issues you are dealing with are simple, one treatment will usually be enough
More complex issues may take several appointments as we unravel all of the layers
COSTS Each Appointment: £50

TESTIMONIALS “After just one session my anxious feelings are under control”
“Whilst having the therapy I could feel the anxiety being taken away from my body – it was an amazing feeling! I have since been entering lifts without any problems.”
“I didn't experience any of the previous panic and nausea in the airport or on the plane and didn't give it thought whilst I was there. It was as though the thought pattern had been lifted away from me. I felt totally calm throughout my time away enabling me to have a really enjoyable holiday. I thoroughly recommend this for anyone who is scared of flying ... I was amazed!”
ABOUT RITA My interest in Complementary Medicine began in the mid 1980’s when I first discovered their power by being treated for some problems I had.
This interest expanded over time and, as well as using various therapies, I began to attend short courses and workshops in various different disciplines. This culminated in doing quite a lot of work discovering about energy fields and their importance in our lives.
In the late 1990’s I decided to progress my interest beyond a hobby and I began my training in Reflexology. All of the things I had learnt up to this point helped me to choose a course which gave me the style of Reflexology that suited me and gave me a good foundation on which to build my knowledge.
As it says earlier I then went on to study Clinical Reflexology and Indian Head Massage.
I have been registered with The British Register of Complementary Practitioners, which is the registration arm of The Institute of Complementary & Natural Medicine, since May 2000, and am insured with their insurers. I have to continue to keep my skills up-to-date to maintain this registration.
Since my registration I have worked continuously in a clinic situation. I have many regular patients, many of whom now feel like friends, and I always welcome newcomers and the challenge of helping them overcome any problems they have.
I discovered TFT in September 2008 when I attended an introductory course being given by it’s founder Dr Roger Callahan and his wife Joanne.
I was extremely impressed with TFT and spent the next 9 months experimenting with it on myself, my family, friends and regular reflexology & IHM patients with fantastic results. In the summer of 2009 I trained fully to diagnostic level and was fully qualified in July 2009.
It is very exciting for me to help people with even more problems which limit their day to day life now that I have this new skill.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding Reflexology services Cheltenham. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
