About Me
I have a background in sales and marketing and stopped smoking myself through hypnotherapy. This inspired me to train as a therapist.
I trained at the Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnosis and am registered with General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) . I am a fully qualified hypnotherapist and a member of the Association for Professional Hypnosis & Psychotherapy (APHP), National Council of Hypnotherapy (NCH) and the Hypnotherapy Society. I’m fully insured for both public liability and professional indemnity. These Associations’ codes of practice and ethics ensure a high level of care to all clients. All members are committed todischarging every client from treatment at the earliest possible opportunity, consistent with their good care and to have the utmost respect for the clients confidentiality at all times.
I am committed to continued professional development. Having successfully completed my own training analysis, I am very well equipped to conduct the analysis of my clients.
I have also qualified as a Licensed Practitioner of NLP, and had the chance to study directly with Paul McKenna and Dr Richard Bandler – the creator of NLP.
I am constantly improving my skills by training in other associated areas, complementary to hypnotherapy and therefore can offer a unique, professional, caring and highly effective treatment.
What is Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis for self improvement and/or the release of problems. Hypnotherapy employs the use of hypnosis accompanied by either suggestive or analytical therapy depending on the issues being resolved.
This type of therapy is different from other types of therapeutic intervention because it allows us to work with the subconscious mind as opposed to other treatments which work with conscious thought processes.
With hypnotherapy the subconscious can be re-programmed to accept ideas which are positive and wholeheartedly required. With subconscious and conscious parts of the mind working together this ensures that success will be achieved quickly and effectively.
In addition Richard has trained in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Thought Field Therapy (TFT), two techniques that can be used to complement and enhance the therapeutic process. These techniques often ensure that success can be achieved in a quicker and more effective manner than when solely using traditional methods.
