To speak in confidence, to be really listened to and understood, and to be accepted without judgement can help us work through whatever difficulties we may be experiencing.   A counselling relationship is established to provide that opportunity.  It can provide the time and space to help you identify changes you might wish to make to your communication and behaviour so that you feel more in control of yourself and your situation.

My aim is to help you to increase your understanding of yourself and your situation by helping you to “think aloud” in a safe, supportive, encouraging environment.

I run my own general counselling practice helping with difficulties such as stress and anxiety, depression, work-related problems, abuse, low self-esteem and bereavement and loss.  In addition, I have experience and training in couple counselling and addictions work, including obesity.  I work freelance for a GP practice and receive referrals from national employee assistance programmes.

The first session lasts up to an hour.  During it, we will explore whether we think we can usefully work together and if so, we will discuss specifically how we might do that.

The initial session costs £35.  Frequency, timing and fees for additional sessions can be discussed at the first session, and thereafter if required.

I see clients Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, during the day and in the evening.  Weekend appointments can also be arranged if necessary.
