About Reflexology St Albans
Reflexology aims to treat the whole person through accessing certain reflex areas which are found on the soles, sides and top of each foot. Every part of the foot is thoroughly but gently worked with thumb and finger pressure – this effect is relayed to the associated areas and organs of the body. Often, treatment may detect an imbalance which can be carefully worked out to aid health problems. Many people like to use Reflexology to maintain good health.
What does it do?Each of us has an inbuilt healing capacity. Reflexology works directly with this to assist in alleviating many disorders.
Excellent for stress and tension, it has been shown to help depression and anxiety, hormonal imbalances (e.g. PMS, Menopause), sleep disorders, headaches, asthma, circulation problems, digestive disorders (inc.IBS), emotional issues, skin conditions, back pain and muscular pain/stiffness.
What to expect at your first sessionAt the first appointment you will be given time and space to fully discuss your general health and wellbeing. During the session you will relax on a comfortable couch in a calming therapy room. Only shoes and socks need to be removed and to start, a soothing foot massage will be given. Treatments should feel comfortable, as pressure too can be adjusted to suit each client - in fact many will drift off to sleep during a session.
How many treatments will I need? This can best be assessed during the initial consultation.
Many clients are amazed at the feeling of lightness and total relaxation after a single reflexology treatment. However, longer standing conditions may take time to respond, and usually the best effects are seen after 4-6 treatments.

About me Following a lifelong interest in holistic health matters, I had no hesitation, after bringing up my family, in choosing to retrain in Reflexology during 2006/7. The training was in-depth and my Level 3 Diploma is backed up by continuing to keep abreast in all aspects of my chosen therapy.
