I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist, registered with the UKCP, The British Psychological Society and the Health Professionals Council. I offer an integrative approach to psychological health and my clients range from those who are seeking support in dealing with a life crisis, or help with depression and anxiety, to others who have approached a psychotherapist as a result of a desire to improve their quality of life or to develop personal insight. I have an office in Brighton which is easily accessible on public transport and by car and can also offer appointments in Eastbourne. I have been in private practice since 2005 and have also worked as a specialist psychologist in the NHS.

Counselling & Psychotherapy Brighton, East Sussex

Are you looking for support to see you through a difficult period in your life? Or perhaps you have been struggling for a while and aren’t sure where to turn? Psychotherapy can provide an environment in which, with the help of a professional, you can find ways of dealing with situations that right now might feel distressing and overwhelming.

As a Psychotherapist and Counselling Psychologist, I believe that all human beings have the capacity to recover from upsetting and difficult events. I support the uniqueness of each individual, and work from an integrative perspective to ensure that I am able to offer to my clients a therapeutic relationship based on their specific needs and personality.

Areas of speciality

I see people with a broad range of problems (see below), although I have a special interest in the following,
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Low self esteem
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Living with Chronic Physical illness
I also have a keen interest in training future psychotherapists and psychologists and am active in the research field.

What to expect
Our first meeting is an opportunity to get to know each other. I will ask you to share what brought you to therapy and will take a brief history to put it in context.  You will have an opportunity to ask me questions which will allow you to find out more about how I work.  We will then agree together the best way forward for you and your particular circumstances.

Opening times and Fees
I can offer daytime and evening appointments during the week, and will usually be able to fit you in for a first appointment within 48 hours of your contacting me.  Each appointment lasts 50 minutes although some treatments such as EMDR may require a slightly longer appointment. My fees are £60 per appointment (pro rata for longer sessions). I am able to offer a limited number of reduced rate appointments during the day.
