Meet the Therapists
Sunette Moore - Therapy Manager
I trained to be a physiotherapist at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa and qualified in 1997. I spent a year in Cape Town working mostly with sports injuries and then decided to travel the world. I eventually settled in the UK where I have spent the better part of ten years working in private healthcare. I joined LBhealthcare in 2002 and have seen it grow to what it is today.

I have always been interested in orthopaedics and sports injuries and have focused my post-graduate training in this field. I have completed a MSc in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy at Brighton University.

I have a special interest in treating Headache and Whiplash Disorders and hope to write my dissertation on this subject. I am also qualified in Acupuncture, Pilates and treatment of Vertigo.

Helen Pound - Neuro Physiotherapist
I qualified as a physiotherapist in 1986 from Manchester School of Physiotherapy. I then worked as a physiotherapist in Portsmouth before travelling ‘around the world’ for a year in 1989 - 1990. On my return I joined the inpatient physiotherapy teams at local hospitals and had the opportunity to work with patients who had suffered from neurological conditions including stroke, multiple sclerosis, head injury and Parkinson’s Disease. From there I developed my clinical skills by working within a specialist rehabilitation team where we supported patients with long term neurological conditions as well as providing skilled treatment for newly diagnosed conditions.  I left the NHS in November 2005 to join LBhealthcare to set up a neurophysiotherapy clinic to treat stroke victims, MS and Parkinson’s sufferers. At LBhealthcare I have developed a hydrotherapy service for Parkinson’s Disease sufferers and work closely with the local Fareham and District Branch of the Parkinson’s Disease Society.

I have 2 young children which keep me ‘on my toes’ and have always enjoyed taking part in sporting activities. I enjoy most water sports and am a keen scuba diver and sailor. I am a regular attendee of the gym to keep myself fit and active.
I am a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) and the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology (ACPIN).

Diane Shaw - Senior Physiotherapist
I graduated from the Nottingham School of Physiotherapy and have worked in the NHS for over 12 years, mainly in the field of Orthopaedics and Rheumatology. The last five years have been as a Senior Physiotherapist in the outpatient department of the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. I have also worked in the private sector at Spire, Southampton and for a year overseas in New Zealand. I joined LBhealthcare in 2009.
Outside work I enjoy the outdoor life and a range of sporting activities. I am a keen netballer, playing with a successful premier league team in Southampton.

I am married with two young children and live in Titchfield with Kevin who works in prosthetics at Dorset Orthopaedic.

Will Denton - Senior Physiotherapist
I joined LBhealthcare in 2009 and also work at HMS Sultan in Gosport.
Katie Rowlands - Pilates Instructor
I started my career in the fitness industry in 1996, gaining a diploma in personal training and advanced fitness instruction. I also gained City & Guilds NVQ in Sports & Recreation. Since then, I have enjoyed many years helping people realise the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, including teaching circuit training, undertaking fitness assessments and cholesterol testing.

I have always had a keen interest in rehabilitation and injury prevention and in 2004 decided to channel this interest into studying to become a Pilates instructor and was successful in gaining this qualification, certified by the Oxford & Cambridge RSA Examinations. I have since gained 5 years experience in teaching mat based Pilates, from beginners through to advanced, providing courses for Hampshire County Council leisure centres and the private industry.
I enjoy an active lifestyle and have two young children to keep me busy. I am a keen and adventurous skier and also enjoy competitive running.

Kathryn Williams - Sports Therapist
I graduated from Chichester University in 2005 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Therapy. Since then I have gained 4 years experience working within the Sports Therapy field in both a clinic-based environment and by working with sports teams in and around the local community.

I have been working for LBhealthcare as the Sports Therapist for 3 years and specialise in injury rehabilitation/prevention and Sports Massage. My postgraduate studies include GP exercise referral and Cardiac Rehabilitation. I am also a full member of the Society of Sports Therapists. I am extremely interested in sports and exercise and am passionate about helping individuals return to their full fitness regardless of age or ability.

Cora Jezard - Podiatrist
I graduated from University of Southampton in 2001 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Podiatry. Since then I have worked both for the NHS and in private practice.

I provide routine Podiatry care, much of which is with patients who have diabetes or other health problems which affect their health or their feet. For the last 5 years I have specialised in Podiatric Biomechanics and sports injuries. I am currently lead clinician for Biomechanics for a local NHS Trust and am the Podiatry team member for the Orthopaedic Lower Limb Triage Clinic. I also have an interest in Podopaedicatrics which is the area of Podiatry dealing with children’s foot problems. I joined LBhealthcare in April 2007 and have regular clinics both in Whiteley and Gosport.

I am a member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists and registered with the HPC (Health Professions Council).

Dawn Tomlin - Sonographer
I started my career as a Diagnostic Radiographer qualifying at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge in 1979. After working as a Radiographer at Bristol Royal Infirmary I moved to Portsmouth to take up a Senior post and became involved in Diagnostic Ultrasound. I did further training at Portsmouth and Southampton to obtain my Ultrasound qualification in 1985. Since then I have worked for the NHS, Commercial and Private sectors performing a variety of roles and examinations including setting up an IVF scanning service for BUPA, Manchester and working as a Clinical Application Specialist in the UK and internationally with research and clinical work within the NHS.
I have worked for Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust as a Specialist Sonographer for the last 7 years and specialise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology which I love.

I joined LBhealthcare 3 years ago as their Head Sonographer and perform all aspects of obstetric scanning including 4D and gynaecological scans.

I hold the Diploma of Medical Ultrasound, Diploma of the College of Radiographers (Diagnostic) and am registered and accredited with the Fetal Medicine Foundation. I am also a member of the HPC (Health Professions Council) and SOR (Society of Radiographers).
Kate Gunter - Sonographer
I have worked clinically in the NHS for 16 years starting with Medical Physics at Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust. In 2000 I transferred to Ultrasound to qualify as a Specialist Sonographer in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and General Abdominal work.

In 2007 after gaining experience in the Princess Anne Hospital and after the birth of my own two children I moved into the private sector specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Working in the private sector gives more time and attention to meet the needs of the parents. This need is often difficult to achieve with the demands of an NHS system.
I am Registered with the Fetal Medicine Foundation, have a PgD in Medical Ultrasound, and a PgC in Health Psychology. I specialise in all obstetric scanning including 4D and gynaecological scans.

Mr David Warwick - Consultant Hand Surgeon
David Warwick was born in 1962 and attended Southend High School for boys in Essex where he obtained A grades in Latin, Greek and Ancient History Advanced Level studies before reading Medicine at Southampton Medical School (1980-86).  He is married and has three children.  He learned to fly with the RAF.  He enjoys driving his sports car, cycling, skiing, keep fit and windsurfing.  Most of all he enjoys time with his wife and three children.

David trained in basic surgery in Bristol, and obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 1989 in London.  He then specialised in Orthopaedic Surgery for the next seven years as a Registrar and Senior Registrar on the South-West Regional Training Scheme.  He qualified as an Orthopaedic Surgeon (FRCS Orth) in 1996 and then undertook specialised training in Hand and Wrist surgery in Oxford UK and Sydney Australia.  He was appointed as a Consultant at Southampton University Hospitals in 1998 and Reader in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2008.

Jane Vadher - Hand Therapist
Gemma Willis - Hand Therapist
I graduated from the University of Southampton in 2002 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Occupational Therapy. I initially worked through a Junior and Senior rotation at Southampton General Hospital however from an early stage in my career I had an interest in Hand Therapy and splinting. I have specialised in Hand Therapy for the last 6 years working for both the NHS and in private practice. I have experience in treating a wide range of orthopaedic conditions including complex trauma and elective surgery.

I am a member of the British Association Occupational Therapy (BAOT) and the British Association of Hand Therapy (BAHT). I am also registered with the Health Professions Council.
Darren Worsfold - Massage Therapist

I trained as a Sports Massage therapist in  2003 and have gained my ITEC level 3 qualification; I am also registered with the Sports Massage Association level 3. As a High Performance tumbling coach I have tumblers in the National Squad due to the benefits they had from sports massage. I felt it was a natural adjunct to my gymnastics coaching. During my career I have won medals at all levels from regional to national and have competed in international competitions representing Great Britain. As a Gymnast I used to have regular massage treatments and it enabled me to have a relatively injury free career: any niggles I had were sorted out straight away.

I joined LBhealthcare in April 2007 and specialise in deep soft tissue work which gets right to the source of the problem. This may be slightly uncomfortable at the time but it works wonders and will have you back to your training regime in no time. A regular sports massage will sort out any minor problems which if left might lead to an injury occurring. Even if your aches and pains are not due to sports-specific injuries, for example you spend a lot of time sitting at your desk and your muscles are working hard to maintain that posture, a sports massage could also benefit you. At LBhealthcare I work closely with all the therapists to provide you with the best possible treatment to promote your overall wellbeing.
