What to expectSessions normally take around 45 mins - 1 Hour allowing a bit longer for initial consultation. The first time you come allow an hour as we will take a full history and assessment which will help me to work out a treatment plan.
Treatments may be done through thin clothing if you wish.
Normally the client lies face down on a couch and every effort is made to make this comfortable. If for any reason this is not possible treatment can be done with the client seated in a chair.
The actual treatment consists of light gentle moves made on the body at key areas, such as either side of the spine. These moves are made in sets of two to four, after which the therapist leaves the room giving the body time to integrate and adjust.
Each move sends a signal to the brain. Your brain responds and sends messages to normalize the tension patterns through the body.
Waits are usually approximately two minutes, however if the client feels any sensations during this time such as tingling, heat or cold we do not disturb the body again until they have settled, as this is a sign that the body is adjusting and responding to treatment.
Most clients feel a great sense of relaxation during treatment any many fall asleep. Each session is unique to the individual.
After treatment you will be encouraged to drink some water and given time to wake fully before leaving.
We usually ask that clients commit to four initial treatments approximately a week to ten days apart. Most people will see an improvement in symptoms during this time, some may then need more sessions, others not. Depending on the condition and how long it has been a problem for you, relief from symptoms may occur with less treatments, whereas more chronic problems such as arthritis will best be managed by monthly follow-ups.

As well as humans I am qualified to treat horses and small animals.
Although I have learned many therapies over the years, I mainly use Bowen, as I found it to be the most effective.
Because of the holistic way that Bowen works, I have used it with success for all sorts of conditions ranging from back pain and joint problems such as frozen shoulder and tennis elbow to breathing problems such as emphysemia and allergies.
Human clients are mostly treated at my home here in Sandiacre , although I do travel out to clients if needed.
Animals are treated at their own premises and I have a particular interest in treating horses and their human riders, which may improve the posture of both, allowing for a more harmonious partnership and preventing re injury.
