About me I am qualified by the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy in both hypnosis and psychotherapy and am a member of the National Register of Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists. I have practices in East Sussex – in St Leonards, Battle and Rye , and also see clients in Central London, in Wimpole Street W1.
I have a person-centred approach, which means that I respond to each person I see individually, and have also trained in metaphysics, which incorporates a spiritual perspective on how we create our reality, and how we can change that to live in a more whole, joyful way. In addition I specialise in counselling people with issues around gender identity, and am a Trustee of the Beaumont Trust, a charity which educates and informs on all aspects of gender expression.
I have for many years worked within drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and work extensively with issues around addiction and substance abuse. I see people on both a short and longer term basis.
Hypnotherapy The decision to make change is the first step towards doing that, the next is to decide on the means. Hypnosis is known to be, in many situations, a highly effective tool for change, helping people deal successfully with fears and phobias, anxiety, giving up habits such as smoking, getting over exam and test nerves, improving performance in sport and other areas, managing chronic pain and illness; but also can be helpful within longer term psychotherapy where emotions and behaviour from the past are affecting the present, and where there is a desire to let go of old patterns.
Psychotherapy I also see people for whom a psychotherapeutic approach, with or without hypnosis, is likely to be most beneficial.
Where there may be more deeply rooted, painful and possibly unconscious behaviour patterns from the past and childhood affecting the present, psychotherapy – meeting with a non-judgemental therapist to talk through and explore how the past is affecting your life now - can be healing and help to resolve long standing emotional issues. I bring in to our work together creative techniques to help you to move and release what ever may be keeping you stuck – this could include old belief patterns, relationships, or negative experiences. I help you to discover and strengthen the parts of yourself which can give you a more fulfilling, richer experience of life.
