About Your Alexander Technique Teacher I teach the Alexander Technique in my studio at home in St Dogmaels, near Cardigan. I completed three years’ full time training with Stephen Cooper in Oxford in 2002. For more information about me and my lessons, please visit my website via the link below
About The Alexander Technique The Alexander Technique is not a therapy although lessons can feel therapeutic and you should feel better after each lesson. The purpose of the lessons is to find out where you are going wrong in your everyday activities and to rediscover your natural poise. If you pull your head into your body, shorten your back and hold your breath whenever you do anything, this needs to be addressed.
“Stop doing the wrong thing and the right thing will do itself”. F. M. Alexander
People often come for Alexander lessons with neck, shoulder and back problems when nothing else has worked. If what you are doing to yourself is causing your problems, the only thing that’s really going to help is prevention of the wrong thing. By giving up unnecessary tension, we begin to rediscover our natural poise and to feel alive again.
“Thank you for giving me my life back!” Eileen, 2003
Introductory lesson One lesson will give you an idea of what the Technique is all about. It is an opportunity for me to assess you and for you to decide if lessons are for you. I will also show you Alexander’s invaluable self-help tool, the semi-supine position.
For more information on lessons with me, please visit my website via the link below I like people to have a good read of this before the first lesson.
