Integrative Arts Psychotherapy uses art forms as part of the therapeutic work to help explore difficult issues and to help express emotions. Painting and drawing, music, movement, poetry, puppetry, and story telling are used in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment. The arts can offer powerful insight into internal difficulties and some people find it easier to express themselves creatively. However you do not need to be able to draw or paint or be familiar with any of the art forms used. Situated in Walthamstow, East London, E17 we draw our clients from the surrounding areas of Edmonton, Tottenham and Loughton.

About Helen Weighell
Helen Weighell trained at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education, a full member of UKCP and affiliated to London Metropolitan University. She has achieved MA Integrative Arts Psychotherapy, as well as a Diploma is Counselling Skills and Perspectives and Certificate in Creative Group Work. She is a member of BACP and is working towards UKCP registration.

Helen has experience of working with a range of adult clients. She is also an experienced trainer in diversity, cultural awareness, religious diversity, dealing with difficult people and communication skills and has run workshops on a variety of themes.

Psychotherapy - What To Expect
Psychotherapy is a collaborative process offering time to explore how you manage difficult feelings and can help you to feel more in control of your life and help you to choose to live life more fully.

In the first session you will be able to ask any questions you might have about therapy or the use of the arts and the therapist will take some details from you. If, after this session, you decide you would like to see the therapist you will be offered a weekly time slot. After an initial 10 to 12 weekly sessions there will be a review session where you can discuss the progress of the therapy.
