I’m Gillian Craigie, osteopath and cranial osteopath working in Isleworth and serving surrounding areas of Hounslow, Heston, Osterley, Heston, Hayes, Ealing, Hanworth, Brentford, Feltham etc. I have more than fifteen years experience of successfully treating patients of all ages for a variety of conditions which cause ache, pain and stiffness in muscles and joints throughout the body. These include arthritis, back pain, sciatica, RSI, headache, neck & shoulder pain, whiplash, trauma, sports injuries, growing pain etc. I establish and treat the true cause of the problem, not just the symptoms. I supplement osteopathy with naturopathy, ergonomics, therapeutic exercise and podiatric (foot) biomechanics.

Osteopathy Isleworth - What can Osteopathy help?
I treat joint and muscle problems throughout the body. Commonly these include back pain, sciatica, trapped nerves, neck pain, shoulder pain, hip and knee pain, arthritic pain, sports injuries, trauma and problems in hands, wrists, feet, ankles, ribs, head and face pain.

Problems may be:

  • Of recent onset. For example lifting something badly or tripping up.
  • Longstanding. For example from a previous injury or trauma or poor work ergonomics.
  • Recurring. For example from a former problem which has not been completely resolved or from postural and habitual problems often associated with work.
  • Ongoing. For example from arthritis, an unsuitable bed/mattress, failing to achieve a good work-life balance or ignoring pain - your body’s warning sign that something is wrong.

Everybody benefits from a regular ‘MoT’ every year to identify and teat developing problems.

Benefits of treatment

  • Patients of any age can be safely treated
  • It reduces stiffness and increases mobility
  • It reduces pain and inflammation
  • It enables enhanced performance in sport and leisure activities
  • It improves general health and wellbeing
  • It is non-invasive and drug free
  • It uses hands to diagnose and treat
  • It enables the body’s own healing mechanism
  • The root cause if the problem is identified and treated reducing the likelihood of a recurrence

What to expect at an Osteopathy appointment
Every person is different from the next, so for each individual the way their body expresses a problem is unique to them. It is therefore essential that I take your detailed case history and undertake a full osteopathic examination of you, to have a full understanding of you, your lifestyle, your medical history and your presenting problem before I formulate a diagnosis and begin your treatment.

I carefully build a treatment plan to best match your needs. It may include stretching and relaxing muscles, loosening joints with gentle rocking movements, manipulation, the subtle touch of cranial osteopathy and self help in the form of therapeutic exercise and postural and ergonomic advice.

Your first appointment with me will take one hour and any subsequent ones 30 minutes.

I am a registered provider for many health insurance companies including BUPA, AXA-PPP, HSA.
