I am an experienced BACP Accredited Counsellor and UKRC registered independent counsellor working in Basingstoke and Hampshire. I work with clients on a range of personal issues using different counselling strategies including CBT, psychodynamic and solution focussed therapy.
My concern is always to work with the right strategy which fits with each individual client. Based on the outskirts of Basingstoke, counselling is provided for clients in a safe, confidential environment with pleasant surroundings, ample parking and easy access.

I have a particular interest in working with clients on problems relating to anger management, eating disorders, anxiety and panic attacks. I am also interested in supporting clients with work related issues including bullying, stress, managing conflict and maintaining an appropriate work life balance. I am also happy to offer sessions to counselling students and trainees.
What to expect I provide support for clients on either an open ended or time limited basis, providing a safe confidential space where clients can feel encouraged and supported. My practice is ethical, pragmatic and supportive. I am not a counsellor who will sit unmoving with an impassive face. Clients come into the counselling room because there are serious and challenging issues to face but I recognise that there can still be a time in the counselling room for a smile and even occasional laughter. My role is to be alongside clients to reflect, encourage, perhaps challenge but always to support.
About therapies Counselling can provide us with the opportunity to provide real change in our lives. Through therapy, we can improve our understanding of the past gain insight into the present and take greater control of the future. Yet the approach adopted for each client is key to the success of therapy. I do not believe that there is one method of individual therapy which is superior to others. What is important is to find the right approach to meet the needs of each client. I am trained to work with a variety of therapeutic approaches including CBT, psychodynamic and solution focussed therapy. A key part of our early work is centred on considering which technique will best fit with the needs of each individual client.
Packages and Prices My fees are negotiable. I charge a range of fees and I am always concerned to agree a fee with each client which also reflects the individual circumstances of each client. My first step with any potential new client is to suggest an informal meeting to talk about your needs and concerns. I do not charge a fee for that meeting which I hold in my consulting room at Worting House which is situated on the outskirts of Basingstoke, set in attractive surroundings with easy access and ample parking. I am also happy to offer subsidised fees to counselling students.
As a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development with a strong business and HR background, I have a particular interest in working with clients on employment related issues such as bullying within the workplace, work life issues and dealing with change. As an Associate Member of the Association for Coaching I can also provide executive coaching support.
