CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY FOR ADULTS
Craniosacral therapy is a subtle and deep hands on bodywork that helps to relieve many symptoms, can assist in varying acute and chronic condions and also support transistional periods in life. Developed from osteopathy, it focusses on the fluids that run through core of the central nervous system and beyond into the entire body creating a rhythmic and tide like pulsation that is known as craniosacral motion.
As so much of our bodies are made up from water, the structures and tissues can retain the imprinting of our lifes experience. This can be both physically from injuries,muscular strains and pain and emotionally from anxiety, stress and challenging periods in life. Where there is imbalance or congestion the bones, organs and tissues will not be be expressing dynamic motion.
The therapist listens with a light hand contact to the inherent expression in the potent and fluid medium of the body. The restrictions and holding patterns are encouraged to let go of compressive and tensile forces and the contained energy can then permeate throughout the entire body giving rise to a heightened health and wellness of being.
The treatments can be deeply restorative and spacious for mind and body. The amount of sessions required is dependant on each individual and circumstance, however a series of regular sessions can enhance the cumulative effects.
The central nervous system is the bridge between how we function in our inner world and our peceptions of our external world so the work can enhance psychological and emotional awareness. Many people continue having sessions even when the main symptoms have disappeared for the general sense of simply feeling better for it. Craniosacral therapy is gentle and non invasive so is suitable for most conditions however some conditions that respond well to treatments are;
- Backpain, neck and shoulder pain - Injuries - Integration after accidents, shock and surgery - Headaches and migraines - Dental work, TMJ and teeth grinding - Depression and anxiety - Epilepsy - Low immunity and run down system - Physical and emotional stress
CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY FOR CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS
Craniosacral therapy can help a childs body adjust to the profound changes created by growing and maturing. It supports physiological changes during this period of life by assisting the central nervous system to function more smoothly. This in turn can enhance a more balanced development both in the skeletal system and the endocrine system promoting a more efficient hormone secretion. It can also help to recharge the immune system and relieve pressures and stress from home, exams and school. It can aid many conditions however the most commonly treated are ;
- Accidents and injuries - ASthma and breathing difficulties - Bone and Joint disorders and pain - Dental work and its effects - Dyslexia Epilepsy - Exhaustion - Glue ear -Headaches
It can also help resove any residual birth trauma that may be still with the child. The benefits from cranial work can be far reaching in this area but notably it can influence key areas such as;
- Relationships with parents/carers and others in their world - Relationship with nutrition and digestive issues - Sleeping patterns - Ability to concentrate
As these are extremely important foundations in a childs life, regular craniosacral treatments are a valuable asset to maintain a childs optimum health, happiness and potential.

REFLEXOLOGY
Working with the feet as an important means of healing has been recognised throughout time and in different and ancient cultures. In the Egyptians and Indian cultures the feet were respected and revered as much as the head. They are our connection to the earth. They ground and support us, influence our posture and give us the freedom for motion.
In the 1930s Eunice Ingham, developed more specifically the corresponding points on the feet with different parts of the body. Working with a deeper intention to these points and zones can bring a greater balance to the affected area and stimulate natural healing mechanisms throughout the body.
The force of gravity can impress upon the feet through continual weightbearing and insufficient attention. Toxins can become stored in the feet and circulation can become stagnant. When the feet are treated the effects can be extremely detoxifying, revitalising and nourishing to the whole system.
Whilst reflexology is a holistic treatment that can help with many conditions , it is particularly beneficial for stress related symptoms, boosting the immune system and maintaining overall health. The treatments can be deeply relaxing.
REFLEXOLOGY FOR WOMENS HEALTH
Womens journey through life involves enormous changes both physically and emotionally. Treatments can support womens health through major transitional stages , by stimulating the endocrine system resulting in a more efficient hormone secretion. This in turn can lead to a greater balance throughout the whole system.
During the menstruation season it can help to regulate periods and ease pre menstrual symptoms. It can be wonderful in pregnancy to ease associated symptoms of fatigue, morning sickness, backpain and fluid retention as well as strengthening the whole reproductive system to prepare for childbirth. There is increasing evidence to suggest that regular reflexology treatments can assist with conception and fertility.
In the menpoause season it can help maintain equilibrium within the body, easing symptoms of hot flushes and tension created by high levels of hormone changes.
