Fiona Campbell Naturopathy
What is Naturopathy?
The term “Naturopathy” comes from a 19th century word meaning ‘Nature Cure”. A Naturopath understands that:
-
there is an underlying cause to any disease,
-
he body has an innate ability to heal itself if given the right conditions.
The principles of Naturopathy were first employed around 400BC by the Hippocratic School of Medicine. They later emerged in Europe with the Nature Cure doctors in the 1800’s, and today this system of medicine is now highly respected throughout Europe, North America and Australia where Naturopaths are more commonly found.
A Naturopath is a fully trained healthcare professional with a variety of diagnostic and treatment options at their disposal. Fiona has practised as a Massage Therapist and Homeopath for several years and has now widened the scope of her practice to include Nutrition Advising, Bach Flower remedies, Chinese diagnostics, Auricular Acupuncture and Iridology.
What is treatment like?
When you attend a consultation your Naturopath will spend time understanding you and assessing all aspects of your health, including nutrition, lifestyle, past medical history, family medical history, and the symptoms of your illness in detail.
One or several diagnostic methods may be used, including face, tongue and nail analysis, and iridology - the study of the iris - to gain a fuller understanding of where the problem lies. Functional tests to assess the hair, blood, stool, and/or urine may also be recommended to identify any contributing factors, such as food sensitivities or allergies.
Fiona has a caring, sensitive and inspirational approach to treatment. Patients are provided with the support they need to both understand their illness and work positively towards a state of health
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, I look froward to hearing from you soon.
