About Maria
Maria’s profound interest in nutrition led her to study to become a Nutrition Consultant at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION), in Putney, London, England. Having completed her studies in 1998, she began a general Nutrition practice. Seeing several members from the same family, the practice soon became the Family Nutrition Clinic. Many years in practice has given Maria much clinical experience, knowledge and special interests in dealing with specific long term health conditions.
Over the years, Maria has built up an international client base as well as seeing patients in her clinics in both East and West Sussex. Maria contributes regularly to BBC Sussex, teaches on nutrition, lectures in nutrition workshops, contributes to various health magazines and is often quoted in nutrition related articles.
PLUSHaving graduated as a Nutrition Consultant from the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in 1998, Maria founded The Family Nutrition Clinic. Since then Maria is recognised for her immense experience in the field of Nutritional Therapy. Her client base extends well beyond the borders of the UK with patients as far a field as Hong Kong, South Africa and the USA. As well as her 13 years of clinical work with patients Maria also teaches, lectures, contributes regularly on BBC Sussex radio, various nutritional magazines and journals and is a Columnist for a local newspaper. Maria is the technical editor of Detox for Dummies, author of WATCH IT, and ASPIRIN & HAEMORHAGIC DISEASE OF THE BORN.
Maria is a member of the Federation of Antenatal Educators FEDANT, the British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapists (BANT), member of the Nutritional Therapy Council (NTCC) and Complementary and Natural Health Council CNHC and Member of the NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners 2148
Autism is of special interest to Maria, who is registered on Autism Research Institute’s international register of practitioners as a DAN! Practitioner. Family Nutrition Autism Clinic is funded by The Caudwell Children’s trust.
Many common long term or chronic health issues can benefit from nutritional therapy. Especially helpful in the area of infertility, weight loss or gain, IBS, female hormone and general poor health.
Maria practices mainly Nutritional Therapy but is also trained in Energetic Medicine using the SCIO and the Russian SKENAR, which is also available if requested by patients.
