Evanthia Lychrou Psychotherapy Westminster, Central London
What to Expect Although there is a variety of different models and ideas related to psychotherapy, the process of psychotherapy is unique and “custom made” depending on the clients’ needs, goals, as well as the therapeutic relationship.
My aim is to enable each client to acquire a better understanding about his current concerns, but at the same time inspire and facilitate him to make all the necessary changes.
Therefore, before deciding whether you would like to book an appointment or not, we could arrange for a brief telephone consultation and discuss your needs and decide whether psychotherapy is right for you.
During the first session, the client is invited to discuss about the issue(s) that led him to undergo psychotherapy, give some background information, and then discuss the idea of having individual, couple and/or family therapy sessions (depending on the needs). About my therapies My style is warm, compassionate, and interactive as I tend to ask questions and acknowledge patterns when I observe them. My practice is informed mostly by the systemic thinking, which means that there is an emphasis on relationships rather than individual subjectivity, without excluding the possibility of borrowing ideas from other modalities, so as to find the perfect fit with the clients’ needs. Overall, my aim is to inspire clients to use all of their available resources so as to achieve what is best for them, while facilitating them to explore new meanings, insights and ways of moving forward. About me I’m very passionate about my work as I’m a great believer in psychotherapy, and the idea that people do change, if they want to. Since 2006 I have been working with individuals, families and couples, acknowledging the contexts of people's families and other important relationships, while sharing and respecting individuals' different perspectives, beliefs, views and stories, and exploring possible ways forward. I am committed to continuing professional development in psychotherapy. I abide by the code of ethics of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Code of Ethics of the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice (AFT) Warrington.
