Working one to one with adult men and women in Salisbury and Melksham, in Wiltshire on a wide rage of emotional and behavior issues (see below and website).  An experienced and qualified counsellor and psychotherapist registered with the UKCP and accredited with the NLPtCA.

 
The approach is solution oriented and focuses on abilities rather than disabilities, strengths rather than weaknesses, and opportunities rather than limitations.  It is an optimistic approach with beliefs that people can and do change, even those with long standing issues, and that people can have choice over what they do and feel.  

 
I treat clients as people in need of help, understanding, and wanting to change rather than as people stuck in a set of traditional theories, diagnoses and prognoses.

 
We work together to create an atmosphere of competence, hope, acceptance, respect, and trust that empowers and instils a sense of control and choice.

 
I specialise in helping people who are haunted by intrusive memories and flashbacks of past traumatic experiences, which seem to come upon them ‘out of the blue’.  People can feel they have no control over their thoughts, memories, and the resulting distress they experience.  I help people gain relief from distress using a method known as EMDR ( for more see website) which can take away the emotional sting of the memory and the experience.

 

 

My specialities

Using my integrated approach I specialize in resolving and desensitizing specific  past issues and experiences (large and small traumatic events) which trigger  current distress, disturbance and behaviour.  These include:

 

  • low mood and depression

  • low self esteem and confidence

anxiety disorders such as:
 

  • phobias

  • OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)
  • PTSD(Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)
  • acute stress
  • avoidant behaviour

     

About me

I’m a coach, counsellor, and psychotherapist using selective positive psychological  methods that I have integrated into an approach that provides a solution focused   and future oriented therapy to address clients issues in a safe and effective way.  I  have developed this successful way working while within the NHS and in private  practice with thousands of client therapy hours with hundreds of clients.
