Counselling Psychotherapy Brighton and Hove

I have an MA in Core Process Psychotherapy (CPP) and have been practicing for four years. My Psychotherapist Clinic is based in Brighton Hove and I draw my clients from the areas of Kemp Town, Portslade and Preston. I worked for eight years as a healer, am a mother of two adult children and had a previous career with Social Services as a Business Support Manager. During my time as a therapist I have also worked with families in grief and given support to people with mental health problems.

Core Process Psychotherapy
There are times when we all experience a need for support and help with difficulties. We feel the need for the kind of safe supportive relationship and space that psychotherapy and counselling can provide. Psychotherapy facilitates changes that can help us to feel more at ease and in control of our lives.

Psychotherapy tends to generally be longer term, in-depth work, counselling is often shorter, dealing mainly with specific issues. Core Process Psychotherapy is not exclusive from Counselling and it is specific issues that often bring people into psychotherapy
Core Process Psychotherapy (CPP) is rooted in a deep understanding that at the core of our existence is an unconditioned health that can become obscured from the moment of conception as being forms and absorbs the conditions of its environment. Initially these would be those met within the womb followed by early years and childhood experiences.

CPP looks at the way we hold on to the suffering that arises from our conditioning. When awareness is bought to this our natural, healing wisdom has the opportunity to move towards the inherent health of our unconditioned state.

CPP is based in Buddhist Awareness practice, this sees the interconnection of all beings that develop a sense of separateness as the personality forms. It draws on Western theories of personality formation and various therapeutic skills to support bringing a mindful awareness of our present moment experience. This can help us to see through our limitations and allow a greater freedom in how we relate to others, ourselves and to our way of relating to the pressures and stress in our lives.

Within the intention of holding a compassionate, non-judgemental space, CPP invites a deep enquiry into the nature of our suffering. It recognises the sense of self in the present moment as the expression of all the patterns of our past experiences. How the past was re-acted, responded to and created a sense of who ‘I’ am.

Working with body, mind and spirit, combining Eastern and Western approaches to psychology, Core Process Psychotherapy can help us gain an understanding of what it is that creates our suffering. We can achieve greater confidence and freedom to choose how we wish to be by bringing an open awareness into the present moment.
