Our approach to your healthWe believe that what you eat and the lifestyle choices you make effect your health and wellbeing. Our approach to your health is based on you as an individual and the specific requirements you need to achieve a natural healthy state.
Our therapists identify your health beliefs and goals and through detailed consultation aim to find the events in your life which may have contributed to your illness or problem. Our approach is functional, that is, through understanding what has contributed to you becoming unwell we can help design a more personalized nutrition and lifestyle programme.
Laboratory assessment combined with our clinical experience can also be helpful to pinpoint more specifically diet and lifestyle interventions that would be more pertinent to you. We focus on understanding the underlying causes of illness and not just on managing symptoms.
Using scientific testing and clinical experience, your therapist will then coach you to make sustainable changes to your diet and lifestyle. Using laboratory assessment, your unique nutritional requirements are identified and then an individual nutritional programme is tailored to help treat the underlying cause of your ill-health.
What to expect from your sessionWe recommend your first appointment is at our Wokingham Clinic, however if that is not possible we will recommend that you locate a practitioner closer to your location. If a local practitioner with relevant expertise is not available we will offer a telephone/skype consultation. Your first session will be slightly longer than usual and you will need to complete a health check questionnaire in advance of attending.
You will have a detailed discussion with your therapist about your health history and then you will learn how nutritional therapy intervention could help you. If necessary, your therapist will recommend some tests to determine your personalised therapy programme. Please be aware that tests may incur additional costs but are optional (your private health insurance may provide you with access, please check with your insurer first).
Once a detailed history and any tests required are complete, your therapist will discuss any dietary changes and supplements that should benefit your health. Subsequent sessions will involve interpreting test results and making adjustments to your treatment programme should they be required. Return visits are held at the Centre or can be conducted by telephone/skpe.
