Bonnie Rosengarten Because Life Can Be Hard Sometimes Counselling Psychotherapy Loughton, Essex
I specialise in the following areas:
Couple Counselling/ Relationship Counselling Relationships are often the most challenging part of being human. Relationships can bring us great joy but also a great deal of pain. These sessions can help couples who are struggling to make sense of their relationship who find themselves arguing constantly, unable to resolve differences, for those who want to find a way to stay together, or for those who want to find a way to part. Relationships with family members, siblings, parents can also cause distress, these relationships can be helped by counselling too, either by attending alone or with the 'difficult' other!
Self-Esteem Counselling Low self-esteem shapes the way we function at work, in relationships, in virtually every aspect of our life. working on building your self-esteem will improve your life, your relationships, your career, your health and thereby expanding your capacity for happiness.
Bereavement and Loss Loss is often painful and at worst, devastating. Whether loss is through death, the end of a relationship or job it can take time to come to terms with and to heal. Counselling can help with the process of acceptance and ultimately peace and readiness to move on.
Depression and Anxiety When we fall into a depression, we can begin to wonder what life is all about. What is it for? What is the point? Anxiety can bring panic attacks, and life can become very hard to cope with. These sessions can help you to find a way out of the pain and move forward into a new day.
Assertiveness Training to Boost Confidence Whether one to one or in small groups, assertiveness can help us to take more care of ourselves, to put ourselves first sometimes and stand up for ourselves in difficult situations or with difficult people. As a result our self confidence grows, self-esteem is enhanced and we feel ready to tackle anything life can throw at us.
Individual Psychotherapy This is for people who want or need to go deeper into issues that affect their everyday lives, their happiness, well-being and peace of mind. Very often problems are rooted in childhood, and these sessions will help to identify these issues and to bring them into awareness to be healed.
E.M.D.R. (Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) EMDR is a form of therapy that was developed to resolved symptoms resulting from past trauma. Initially used for PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) it can be used for many other conditions. After EMDR processing clients generally report that the emotional distress related to the memory has been eliminated or greatly decreased. It is a safe and non-scary way to tackle difficult issues.
About Me I have been a practising counsellor for over 17 years and a registered psychotherapist for 9 years. I initially trained with Relate in the early 90’s as a couple’s counsellor, then went on to gain a degree in Humanistic Psychology. From there I trained as a teacher and worked at Newham College.
Whilst working in my practise I also became a Training Consultant and ran courses for the Civil Service and Industry in topics such as Equal Opportunities and Diversity Awareness, Stress Management to Enhance Performance and Assertiveness in the Workplace. When I retired from consultancy work I concentrated wholly on my practise and began my psychotherapy training in 1999. I am now a fully qualified, registered psychotherapist and have also added EMDR training to my list of skills.
