Avicenna Centre for Chinese Medicine is an integrated health clinic specialising in Traditional Chinese Medicine which includes therapies such as Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture and shiatsu.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, ill health is viewed as an imbalance in the fundamental equilibrium of the body. TCM diagnosis is holistic and takes into account the health of the whole body and mind treating the root (or cause) of a health concern along with the branch (or the symptoms) of a health concern.
At Avicenna, we have a team of highly qualified and skilled practitioners who specialise in areas ranging from pain management, fertility issues, cancer support, children and babies, digestive and respiratory problems through to skin, allergic and autoimmune disorders.
Many conditions, especially in their chronic forms, present great difficulty for conventional medicine whereas TCM can produce remarkable results.
For those in need of frequent and intensive treatment of painful conditions with acupuncture, we offer a low cost option of a multiple bed pain clinic as well as the option of a one to one consultation.
We have an in house dispensary that has a permanent stock of over 450 fully authenticated herbal ingredients of the highest standards sourced from Chinese government approved suppliers. We are also one of the few herbal clinics in Europe to offer a unique decoction service using cutting edge machinery imported from China for our tailor made and personalised herbal formulas thus giving added value and convenience to our patients. There is substantial evidence to support the fact that decocted herbs are far more effective than other forms of herbal medicine such as pills, tinctures and granules – decoction extracts 30-40% more of the active ingredients of the herbs therefore making treatment more effective and rapid.
