What to expect from Counselling and PsychotherapyCounselling aids discovery of what might be the underlying cause of your problems and may clarify ways of living more effectively, moving you towards a greater sense of wellbeing, meaning and direction. Counselling seeks to create a helping relationship in which you can find your own resources for dealing with your difficulties, without the fear of what others may think and empowering you to make positive choices and decisions about your life. It is often a difficult decision to make to come to counselling and it is natural that initially you may experience feelings of unease and apprehension. Every client that comes to counselling is unique, so it is difficult to say how many sessions you will require. Some clients find they need only a small number of sessions, others may benefit from longer term therapy to get to a place that feels right for them.
Relationship CounsellingAt some point in time difficulties may arise in our relationships, perhaps causing distress, disappointment, guilt, rejection and loneliness. Relationship counselling can be useful in providing a safe, supportive, non-judgemental space for couples to explore difficult feelings and thoughts and gain a clearer understanding of negative dynamics within the relationship, improve communication and discover positive ways to move forward.
How much does it costThe fee for individuals is £40 per session. The fee for couples is £60 per session. Concessions are available, so please do ask for details. Also, if longer term counselling is needed a reduced rate can be organised to help with the cost of therapy.
