...... we can help!
How do we do this?
For the body to be healthy it must be in a state of dynamic balance. Meridians are the energy pathways of the body and link the body systems, internal organs, muscles, tendons and bones, and the senses in an organic whole. As long as the life energy flows freely through the meridians in the correct direction then health is maintained. However, if the flow of life energy is blocked then the system becomes blocked or disrupted and then pain and illness occur.
So, why do we offer so many therapies?
Well firstly let's be clear that all the therapies offered by Aceso are very effective in their own right. However, as I have studied and grown in experience I have come to realise that every therapy has its strengths and weaknesses. For example, as powerful as acupuncture is there are some people who just do not like the idea of needles and therefore the benefit they receive will be diminished by their discomfort.
The fundamental principle of Aceso is to provide as great a benefit as possible to the client in as short a time as possible. As all the therapies offered work on the meridian system from different approaches, applying them as needed provides for a wide range of-
1. Diagnostic techniques to ensure that a thorough and accurate diagnosis is achieved.
2. Gentle yet powerful treatments to restore balance, improve function and promote healing.
In addition to addressing various biochemical and physiological conditions, everyone can benefit from the therapies used by Aceso and can experience-
· Ill health prevention
· Postural improvement
· Physical pain relief
· Physical tension release
· Stress release and management
· Enhanced brain function and co-ordination
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the oldest and best established systems available today. The term ‘acupuncture’ describes a procedure involving the stimulation of anatomical points on the body to promote natural healing and improve function. At Aceso this involves inserting sterilized, stainless-steel needles (that are as fine as a human hair) into specific points located on the body along the meridians to stimulate them in a specific way.
To enhance the effect of a treatment the herb called moxa may be used to heat the needles and/or Chinese cupping applied. When appropriate, such as for smoking addiction and stress reduction, a system of ‘auricular’ (ear) acupuncture can be applied. Auricular acupuncture can be used in addition to or sometimes in place of points used on the body.
Chinese Herbs
The latter half of the 20th Century saw the revival of demand for more natural and traditional medicine. The use and effects of Chinese herbs can be dated back to around 2700 B.C. Chinese herbs can be used as a treatment in their own right or in combination with other treatments. The herbs used by Aceso are single herbs in powdered form and come from sources that are quality controlled to the highest standards. By using powdered individual herbs the inconvenience for the client is reduced and formulas used are tailored to the specific needs of the client and are therefore more effective.
Acupressure
Acupressure massage is a treatment based on the application of finger pressure techniques in combination with deep tissue massage to stimulate the acupuncture points and meridians. It is highly effective and a very good substitution for those who do not like the thought of needles or are contraindicated for their use.
Bowen Therapy
The style of Bowen Therapy practiced by Aceso is Neurostructural Integration Technique (NST). Bowen Therapy is highly effective in addressing acute and chronic pain, physiological dysfunction and even psychological imbalances, by restoring the structural integrity of the body. When correctly applied by a trained therapist, NST initiates a process of natural auto-regulation to occur in the spinal column and consequently throughout the whole body.
Kinesiology
Kinesiology is a holistic system of natural health care that uses muscle testing to communicate directly with the body. It can assess a person's response to any stimulus: physical, chemical, mental and energetic. Kinesiology can also find connections between imbalances, prioritise these and determine the most effective treatment. It draws on the principles of acupuncture and can evaluate body function through the muscle meridian relationship.
