Real-time pollen alerts for allergy sufferers
Tuesday 23rd December, 2008
Do you suffer with allergic reactions to plant pollen? If so, new technology from Germany could soon make your life a little easier with the next generation of pollen detection.
Currently, pollen counts are based on time-consuming physical identification and examination of pollen in the air but this latest advance in allergy warnings could provide a real-time automated system that will provide allergy sufferers with information by the hour on what pollen is circulating.
A procedure used in laboratories to identify chemical structures of pollen grain could be implemented into a warning system that will help sufferers determine what pollen is around hour-by-hour and avoid exposure to it.
This system won’t help allergy sufferers overcome their allergies, but alternative medicine and complementary therapy methods can.
