How does Bowen Therapy work?
Bowen Therapy/Technique
When a new client comes to me with a particular health problem such as back pain, it is of no surprise when they very quickly experience improvements elsewhere in their body – maybe a frozen shoulder is freed up or an asthmatic will be able to breath more easily without their inhaler.
How can this happen?
Well you see the Bowen Technique really is a truly ‘holistic’ therapy because it works on the fascia – that tough continuous membrane which covers and protects every organ, muscle and tissue in your body.
If this membrane is torn or damaged through injury, or if it is dehydrated, it may become tough and restrictive. This can cause all sorts of problems from joint restrictions to migraines.
By making our small gentle Bowen moves where there are many nerve receptors, we can stimulate this fascia to relax thus allowing all the organs and tissues inside of it to realign. In this way we stimulate the body to heal through relieving pain and restrictions.
Because Bowen is such a gentle therapy and may be performed through thin clothing it is suitable for everyone, from neonates to the elderly.
Bowen Therapy is effective
Mind you, gentle though it is, don’t be fooled. Bowen is an incredibly effective therapy with an 80% success rate among most therapists. Even long standing conditions may be improved in just a short course of 2-4 treatments.
So if your life is being made miserable by back pain, sciatica, migraines, earache, joint restrictions, fibromyalgia, hormonal problems, breathing difficulties, or almost any other condition.
What are you waiting for?
