Bronchitis, a condition that affects the lungs, is classed as a Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD) alongside Emphysema.
The airways of the lungs (known as the bronchi) can become inflamed by infection causing a dry cough which produces a think yellowy liquid. Bronchitis and Emphysema affects around 3 million people in the UK with smoking as the main contributory factor.
