Depression – Are you, or is somebody you know, depressed?

It’s a term we hear more and more everyday as depression becomes a common mental health condition in our society. Depression has a massive impact on a person’s ability to deal with day-to-day life.

If you’re someone suffering with depression or you know somebody who is, then you’re not alone. Clinical depression is thought to affect in one in three women and one in six men.

With the number of people in the UK suffering with depression at the 5 million mark (and counting), the condition is set to be the second biggest debilitating condition next to heart disease by 2020 and a large percentage of those affected are not getting treatment. And the mental health effects aren’t the only problem as depression has also been linked to diabetes, heart disease, forms of cancer and back pain.
