Dementia
Dementia is a term given to symptoms that are caused by disorders affecting the brain.
Dementia impairs mental abilities such as thought, memory and reasoning. Dementia can also alter behaviour, trigger mood swings and cause personality changes. Common causes of dementia include Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia and Lewy body dementia. Dementia typically affects people over the age of 60 but it is not a normal effect of growing old. |
