The largest and best known association is the Association of Reflexologists. Established in 1984. This is the most well established organisation for Reflexologists. Please see their web site.

- Important: The Reflexology Association (uk) therapists are not eligible for membership to the AoR. Further in depth training and examination would be required before membership can be obtained.
- VCTC & IIHHT qualified therapists are not eligible for membership as further training is required.
- ITEC trained therapists can only obtain associate membership.
Principal & tutor Loretta Cusworth has been a Reflexologist since 1994. She also ran her own chiropody clinic for 15years, then a Holistic therapy centre for 8years in the Barnsley Area and holds the following qualifications. As a tutor Loretta currently mentors other tutors and therapists when required or requested

At this time courses run from April and September each year and Mrs Cusworth also teaches at The University of Huddersfield Barnsley Campus on the Holistic therapies degree course. She also works alongside the ABC awarding body Consortium as a Moderator.
The course runs from Priory Campus, Lundwood, Barnsley. S71 5PN.
Entry to the courseNo qualifications are necessary just an eagerness to learn and study independently. On a past course a lady of 72 was successful in qualifying and she had finished her education when 14years of age. Each person has the opportunity to attain qualification in Reflexology but a certain degree of effort is required.
This course would suit the dedicated individual looking for a rewarding career. Help is always available from the school with whatever problems you experience. Tutorials are one to one and you will be trained to practice independently once qualified.
Bridging courses are available for those from a VCTC or IIHHT qualification.
Requirements:- Insurance and membership will be available from the Association of Reflexologists once you become a student.
- Cost of membership approx £39 Insurance is extra.
- Registration with the ABC is paid by the School on your behalf.
- Once you qualify and receive your Diploma you have the opportunity to become a full member of the Association of Reflexologists and be placed on their register which enables the general public to find a therapist in their area.
The course detailsThe course is modular and contact hours are 112 minimum. Training is flexible. 100% attendance is required during training but sometimes circumstances dictate otherwise and we can make provision to support you during periods of difficulty.
Guided learning hours are divided into 50% theory and 50% Practical training.
The school covers much more than the basic criteria requirements by the AOR and the ABC specifications. The syllabus follows the criteria laid down by the AOR and ABC awards specifications.
The AoR has fully accredited this course and exams are set and moderated by the ABC awards.

Home study requirements are a minimum of 12hrs per week over the year. This time varies during the course and may be less at the start increasing as case study work commences.

ExaminationTo obtain the Level 3 Practitioners diploma in reflexology an examination is necessary at present.
A Two and a half hour written examination followed by a practical examination is required before qualification.
Students who have qualified may be able to continue to obtain a holistic degree in Complementary therapies at University and receive A.P.L. thus reducing the period of time on a University course.
Course fees on application. Fees ,may be paid monthly during training, after a deposit has been agreed and paid.
Contracts for payment are issued and all payments become due once enrolled on the course.
No refunds are made as room are booked according to the commitments and dates arranged by the school.

You will be provided with an A4 file on your first day plus a booklet of working techniques. Recommendation re study books is given although it is important not to reads too many conflicting books during training as techniques and charts vary.
